Housing Grant Application

If you are homeless you should call 2-1-1 immediately. This is the homelessness hotline and they can help you find shelter quickly. You may also be able to find assistance through www.FindHelp.org.
Important information about the Eastern PA Trans Equity Project rent assistance program.
if you are homeless, facing an imminent threat of homelessness, or need help with rent/utility cost you should first call 2-1-1 which connects you with the Pennsylvania intake system. The operators there can point you toward additional resources
Our assistance program is designed to ONLY help people who:
- Are transgender/nonbinary or the parent of a transgender minor
- Are already housed but who are struggling to pay their rent or who have secured a lease but need help with a security deposit
- Are able to provide a copy of their signed lease
- Are able to sustain housing/rent payments once assistance has been provided
- Have called 2-1-1 to seek assistance with housing
If approved, we may provide up to one month’s rent or funds for a security deposit if you have secured a lease. Funds are paid directly to the landlord. The maximum grant is $1,500 and due to funding constraints is often for a lower amount.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- Applicant must identify as transgender or be the parent of a minor transgender child to apply.
- Applicants must reside in Applicants must reside in Adams, Berks, Bucks, Bradford, Carbon, Chester, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Juniata, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Pike, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne, Wyoming, York, Centre, Mifflin, Blair, Huntington, Bedford, Fulton, Clinton, and Potter County in Pennsylvania only. Applications from other localities will be declined.
- Applications from people or households who have previously received rent assistance from Eastern PA Trans Equity Project will receive lower priority.
- Applications from people or households who have received rent assistance from Eastern PA Trans Equity Project within the past year will not be considered.
- We will not pay rent assistance grants more than twice for any person/household.
- We are unable to pay for hotel stays
- Please note: We DO NOT serve residents of Philadelphia at this time
- EPTEP reserves the right to decline or approve any application.
